Barbara Borgwardt
Watercolor Wisdom
With plenty of demonstrations, the various watercolor techniques will be fine tuned and the basic elements of design emphasized through critiques.
Because of the small class size, Barbara teaches individually, with students learning from each other. She teaches beginner level to advanced level with the purpose of having each student “stretch” their talents and enjoy the process.
Photos may be brought in as reference or Barbara has a selection to work from. Unfinished work that needs help is always welcome.
Beginners get Barbara’s “happy packet” which includes a photo and a line drawing of photo to transfer. Barbara’s greatest quality is her patience and passion of the process of watercolor art.
Every third Thursday is the BASIC Watercolor Class for new watercolorists. The paints are provided by Beads of Tubac for these Basic Classes.
Run Freely and Finish With Shape-Up
In this two day workshop you will “run freely” with the Watercolor Pouring technique.
The subject matter will be floral and/or nature inspired. From different floral/nature shapes you will create a composition using a letter of the alphabet as your design guide.
Then the SHAPE-UP begins! It will be time to delineate the positive and negative SHAPES. At the same time, you will concentrate on producing soft and hard edges.
The PURPOSE of the this workshop is to increase your awareness of SHAPES AND BALANCE while creating a pleasing composition.

Biography
Originally from New Berlin, Wisconsin, watercolorist and fashion illustrator, Barbara Borgwardt, resides with her husband, Randall, in Green Valley, Arizona.
A graduate of Mount Mary College, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a former fashion art instructor for twenty-five years at the college, she now spends time when not on the golf course or being grandma, at her foremost passion-- painting.
